Merit School of Music in the Community with Bridges: Partners in Music

Welcome to the new Bridges blog!  I hope that this will be an easy and fun way for me to let you know about interesting Bridges developments and events as they happen.

This first post comes right on the heels of a numerical “snapshot” that I took of the Bridges program late last week.  On October 24th, we had:

83 sites

• 47 of these are CPS schools.
• 11 are private schools or public schools outside of the CPS system.
• 25 are partnerships with youth centers or community organizations.

100 programs (accounted for by sites with multiple programs)

• 18 Band
• 26 Choral
• 18 Strings
• 11 Early Childhood
• 10 Percussion
• 5 General Music
• 5 Guitar
• 5 Piano
• 1 Musical Theater
• 1 Composition (New this year at Kelly High School!!)

I expect the total number of sites to creep closer to 90 over the next few weeks as we confirm a few more sites.
