MeritFest is our annual spring celebration of the accomplishments of our instrumental and choral Bridges students.  It is a two day event held at Symphony Center, home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.  Starting in January, students will begin learning the concert pieces with their Merit teachers.  For MeritFest, they will join musical forces with their Bridges peers from all over Chicago and NW Indiana to perform these works as part of large ensembles.  Making music in such a large group and also the magnificent setting of Symphony Center make for an unforgettable experience for many of our students.

Please note that, with very few exceptions, first year instrumental students are not yet advanced enough to participate in MeritFest.  We do welcome and encourage them however to still attend the concert as an audience member.  Being a part of the audience at MeritFest is a wonderful way for students to gain inspiration so that they will be ready to participate the following year!

Final determination of which students will perform is at the discretion of Merit teachers.  Students must know their music extremely well and have excellent records of attendance and behavior.

In almost all cases, Merit will provide bussing between Bridges sites and Symphony Center.  Merit will confirm all arrangement with site administrators who can then communicate the information to students and parents.

Please check the list below to know which day your Bridges site will be performing at MeritFest!  (Due to their large numbers, St Paul’s students will split by grade levels between the two days.)
